Description

Lume Consulting Group a Sacramento based IT consulting company is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of a Senior Technical Lead (Solution Architect/DevOps Engineer).

 

Responsibilities

 

  1. Meet as required with staff to discuss progress
  2. Participate in information gathering meetings, fact-finding meetings, working sessions, status reporting (both written and verbal), presentations, and general communication(s) to ensure success of consultant activity performance
  3. Provide technical leadership in architecture, continuous integration, continuous deployment, automated testing, scripting of server configuration, and repeatable process automation
  4. Responsible for setting the direction of the IT team and establishing the team’s vision and goals.
  5. Create and maintain Application Programming Interfaces (API) used in the project
  6. Assist in planning and migrating functionality of current application into the new application.
  7. Add new features and applications that would integrate with the new application
  8. Assist with any solution and enterprise architecture decisions and tasks
  9. Provide guidance on any AWS solution design and implementation
  10. Provide guidance on the maintenance and adjustments needed for the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline
  11. Provide operating system administration support in maintaining service continuity and availability of the system
  12. Participate in development of product roadmaps, backlogs, and measurable success criteria, and writing User Stories
  13. Provide knowledge transfer to IT team
  14. At the end of twelve (12) months, provide an assessment of IT Team to identify gaps in their skill sets
Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications

  1. At least two (2) years of experience:
    • Responsible for DevOps, including at least one (1) year of experience leading DevOps on Digital Services projects. Projects must have been deployed on cloud infrastructure.
    • Creating and maintaining Application Programming Interfaces (API)
  2. Experience with solution/enterprise architecture
  3. Strong experience with

Version Control

  • Git
  • GitHub
  • Gitflow Workflow

 CI/CD

    • Jenkins
    • CicleCI

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools

Kubernetes

4-Strong knowledge of AWS services and core features, including:

    • Experience in using helm charts and manifest files
    • Knowledge of automation focused scripts (such as kops and terraform)
    • Knowledge of network communication protocols with a focus on AWS networking services (VPC, NACLs, Security Groups, Transit Gateways, etc)

The applicant must provide two references.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. ABC System (alcoholic beverage licensing application), BizMod (responsible beverage server application/licensing eServices portal), or similar
  2. Experience/Responsibility in analyzing, modeling and baselining systems configurations as a DevOps Engineering/Engineering Manager.
  3. Experience/Responsibility for monitoring and tuning of systems performance as a DevOps Engineering/Engineering Manager 55
  4. Experience/Responsibility for network administration and maintaining system logs as a DevOps Engineering/Engineering Manager
  5. Experience/Responsibility for continuous integration and deployment of incremental changes to systems using automation
